episode transcript:
[soft and soothing intro music starts, proceeds for a few seconds and then becomes quieter and fades into bgm] hi, um, i literally don't know how to start a podcasts, so, uh, i apologize for the mumbling and pauses you're going to have to endure in this short introduction. yeah, hi! if you're listening to this you probably already know who i am, um, but if not and you stumbled upon this podcast randomly um.... thanks? hah, you definitely don't have to stick around. but, anyway... uh, i'm sophie. i'm 19 very very soon– this month– and i'm mexican-american.
basically this podcast is just gonna be reading my favorite passages of literature from novels and poetry... hence the title 'fragments of literature'. i picked that title out, i came up with it in like two minutes, heh, and i'm actually very very proud of it because it sound really cool, i think. um, yeah, i had a page on my log for this. i had a couple voice notes of me reading... i think it was 'lord of the flies'. uh, but i felt like i wanted it to be on a bigger scale. um, because reading out loud is something that i Love to do, which i now it weird to a lot of people in the book community. so i've found out recently haha. i love to read out loud when i'm alone in my room, especially if it's particularly a novel with great writing. that makes it, like, so much better. so, um, plus reading out loud helps me focus more on the words that i'm taking in, and it just helps me focus on the story and what's being said. yeah, it's something that i regurly, uh, reg-u-lar-ly do, haha. something that i love to do. and, uh, i thought i would make a podcast about it because, i don't know. i want to share the things that i love to do. i wanna share passages of literature that i love, and that i think are awesome. um, yeah, haha, that's just about it.
right now, the podcast is just gonna be me reading the things that i love, but, hopefully, once i get off the ground, or, or, once more people start listening to it, um, i'll start to ask you guys for requests of your favorite pieces of literature. which i think will be cool and really exciting to do. uh, but for now, sit back, relax, get yourself a cup of tea, a snack maybe, and enjoy this little collection of fragmented literature! thank you! bye, have a great day. [bgm become slightly louder for a few second without my voice and then ends]
